High Agency Human Mission
Our mission is to empower individuals to embrace their inherent agency, navigate adversity with resilience, prioritize well-being, and proactively prepare for a future full of possibilities.
It’s Your Life - Take Action
Leveling up isn’t easy. You’ll have to do things that are best for you even when you don’t feel like it. There will be set backs, challenges, and naysayers. You can opt out, but risk missing out on what life could have been. It’s time to create the break you can’t catch.
Core Components of High Agency Human
The core of High Agency Human is in our ability to:
Implement Radical Reduction (digital, stuff, other aspects of life as needed)
Master the Mundane (nutrition, physical activity, stress management, restorative sleep, social connection, and avoidance of risky substance use)
Boost Protective Buffers (plans/paperwork, skills, health, finances)
Adopt High Agency Mindsets
Live Big
We’re living at the edge of the wrong limits.
We live at the upper limits of our financial means, stress levels, disconnectedness, and ability to mistreat our own bodies. What happens when we live this way? We can’t catch a break. A flat tire breaks the bank. Stress becomes illness. Communities crumble. Any new hurdle, no matter the size, becomes unmanageable because there are no buffers in place to withstand them. No emergency fund. No general good health. No connected community to lean on.
In 2023, Bankrate reported that one in five Americans have no emergency savings. While one in three people do have emergency savings, it is not enough to cover three months of living expenses.
APA’s Stress in America™ survey top line results for November 2023 indicate that top stressors include finances, caregiving, and health.
Authors of Outlive, Dr Peter Attia with Bill Gifford, identify heart disease, cancer, neurogenerative disease, and type 2 diabetes (including metabolic dysfunction) as the “Four Horsemen” as these conditions are leading contributors of death for the majority of people.
The U.S. Surgeon General’s office released an Advisory in 2023 on the Healing Effects of Social Connection and Community highlighting the significant health risks of loneliness which include a 26% increased risk of premature death, 29% increased risk of heart disease and a 32% increased risk of stroke.
Our current baseline makes the normal hurdles in life less manageable.
Let’s change that. We’re going to build buffers and start living that the limits that set us free - at the edge of our comfort zone, optimal health, fitness potential, investment capacity, intellectual curiousity, skill sets, and connectedness.
