ABOUT

Bold Enough to Live a Big Life

Hey there,

I’m Vickie. You can catch the official stuff below, but the nonofficial stuff? Well, I believe in seasons for everything from finances to fitness to careers. My “I am a ___” statements change every so many years, much like my address. I like and typically go after lofty goals without actually knowing if I’ll succeed or not. The best road to travel is one I’ve never been down before. There are far too many books on my to-read pile and I likely drink far too much coffee. What is too much really anyways? Being outdoors as much as possible is a daily requirement. I believe that if we’re able, we must - but only in regards to living our own big life.

MY MOTTO IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE

“We are our own griefs (…) we are our own happinesses and we are our own remedy.” ~ Huseyn Raza

The Why

At age 18, I witnessed a close-range plane crash. The following year, my face was smashed in a tank accident. Shortly after, I responded to the first of several mass casualty incidents overseas.

Adversity is a known place, along with the ability to get through them. It’s less about superpowers and more about having varied experiences and the opportunity to learn along the way.

In truth, I’m an accidental speaker on adversity and well-being who saw the potential to do a little good and decided to stay. It all began when I wrote a blog post on experiencing my first mass casualty incident. A doctor who was looking for a speaker on the subject googled and my article popped up. Only after a few talks did I realize that I have something helpful to share with the world.

Which brings us here, to you, and learning about how to live a big life no matter what gets thrown our way.
